This service is used by the women of the Hobart Women’s Shelter when they need legal help. They offer free and confidential legal service and advice. It is state-wide and most of advice can be accessed over the phone.
They also offer community education. There are sessions about what they offer specific legal issues and workshops on how to go about legal things such as making a will.
The legal issues that they help with include: Family law, Property settlements, legal options after domestic violence, , medical treatment, sexual harassment and many others.
This is a great service for women from domestic violence backgrounds as it is a service only for women and gives them more security and information.
